Rockfort Live: April 30
Rockfort is heading to north-east London for the first time for a live event in Dalston's Café Oto.
The full details are below, and you can read an interview with Del Cielo here, with 69 here, and with Double U's Frank Rabeyrolles here.
Rockfort will feature…
Rising from the ashes of John Peel-approved, Steve Albini-produced 90s French grunge trio Sloy, 69 - Armand Gonzalez and Virginie Peitavi - succeed in drawing on the spirit of Devo and Talking Heads without merely replicating past glories.
Del Cielo are a duo featuring two very active members of Rennes' music and arts scenes: Gael Desbois and Liz Bastard. The minimalist electro-acoustic pop of their debut album 'Sous Les Cendres' mingles sensuality with barely restrained tension. www.myspace.com/opendelcielo
Double U is the alter-ego of Montpellier-based producer Frank Rabyerolles, who also works under the name Franklin. His latest album, Pineapple Dream, features Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier and merges billowy acid ‘n’ sun-fried West Coast song craft with analogue keyboard sounds, dubby effects and crisp electronic percussion.
Formed in late 2009, Partial Gathering is the avant-garde Cello and Electronics duo of composer, Ruaidhri Mannion, and cellist, Corentin Chassard. After their first performance in November 2009 at London's National Portrait Gallery, they began to further explore the relationships between contemporary art and intuitive musical interactions. www.myspace.com/partialgathering
