Wednesday 15 December on Resonance FM, the Rockfort team reports back from the Trans Musicales festival in Rennes, playing music from some of the French acts who performed there as well as an interview with Kate Fletcher, the singer from local band La Corda.
Released in January 2011, 'Voyage 2: Mort Pour La France - French Underground Voodoo Music' is the second compilation from the Pan European Recording label presided over by Turzi. It's another compelling snapshot of a loose family of underground psych-rock and electronic artists, including some names that appeared on the first volume, 'Facing the Future of French Modern Psychedelic Music', including Aqua Nebula Oscillator, Koudlam, Chicros and Etienne Jaumet.
This week, Rockfort welcomes Madchester obsessives Shit Browne - a group described by our reviewer as "wildly perverse" - to the Resonance studio for a live session. Tune in at 6pm on Wednesday 8 December.
On Resonance FM this Wednesday at 6pm, David and Ludo welcome Pevin Kinel to the studio. A one-man band specialising in live improvisation, he uses clarinet, guitar, human beatbox, bass and keyboards to create delightfully oddball pop nuggets. Rockfort’s studio guests this week are Partial Gathering, the avant-garde Cello and Electronics duo of composer, Ruaidhri Mannion, and cellist, Corentin Chassard. They formed in late 2009 and, after a first performance at London’s National Portrait Gallery, they began to further explore the relationships between contemporary art and intuitive musical interactions.The show is at 6pm on Wednesday 24 November on Resonance FM.
The Rockfort show on Resonance FM on 17 Nov features a live session and interview with Florence Joelle. On her debut EP, 'Kiss of Fire', the chanteuse mixes rockabilly inspirations, a little jazz and French chanson, and has a band featuring members of Gallon Drunk and and the Flaming Stars.
